As the Computer Science & Mathematics Department Representative and Senator, I served as a voice for students at the intersection of technical education, student government, and university decision-making. My work focused on ensuring that student priorities were represented clearly and that resources were directed toward meaningful academic and professional opportunities.

Budget oversight

I was entrusted with reviewing and approving student body budgets, helping ensure that resources were allocated efficiently and responsibly. This included thinking critically about how funding decisions could support academic excellence, student success, and the kinds of events or resources that created long-term value for the campus community.

Collaboration with administration

I actively collaborated with university administration to identify and implement strategies that expanded opportunities for students. This work helped bridge the gap between student needs and institutional resources, with the goal of building a more connected and practical educational experience.

Student advocacy

I regularly sought feedback from students so their concerns, ideas, and suggestions were heard and addressed at higher levels of the university. My goal was to foster an environment where students felt valued, represented, and empowered to shape their academic experience.

Ultimately, this role was about improving the quality of education and opportunities available to computer science and mathematics students. I wanted to help ensure they had the tools, resources, and support they needed to thrive in their academic journey.
